Qualification: Formal education and/or training must be able to set-up and precisely operate CNC lathes and mills. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed and depth of cut to optimize production. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjusts machine controls or tool offsets as required. Collect and report process data such as setup and run time, dimensional plotting and tracking; input recordings into statistical process control charts, recognizing and reporting trends and process variations. Loads programs into machine tool controls from computer and access CNC programs from CNC program storage server. Verifies conformance of finished parts to blueprint and Work Order Instructions. Consults with engineers and other team members regarding product design, equipment capability, capacity and purpose, types of material to be used to fabricate product and required tooling. Assists in establishing work procedures for machined parts. Participation and contribution in Continuous Improvement processes.
